JSON to CSV
Paste JSON and download a CSV file. Preview the rows, choose a separator, and open the result in Excel or another app. Conversion runs in your browser, so your data stays on your device.
Pasted text or .json, .jsonl and .txt files, up to 50 MB
Paste or choose a file. You can also drop a file here.
Adds an apostrophe before text that could run as a formula in Excel. Turn off for raw CSV data imports.
Your preview will appear here after conversion.
Showing the start of the text. Copy or download to get all of it.
How it works
Paste JSON or choose a file, then convert it to CSV in your browser. Check the table or CSV text, then copy or download it. No account or upload is needed. For a full walkthrough, see the JSON to CSV guide.
How JSON becomes CSV
| Your JSON | In the CSV |
|---|---|
| An array of objects | One CSV row per object. The header includes every field seen, in first-seen order. Missing fields become empty cells. |
| One object | One row. If the object only contains a named array of records, the records become rows instead. |
| Nested objects | Fields become dotted columns, such as shipping.city. A dot inside a field name is escaped as \. to keep the names distinct. |
| Arrays inside records | The array stays as JSON text in one cell, including arrays of objects. CSV has no nested cells. |
| An array of arrays | Each inner array becomes a row, with no header added. |
Choose comma for standard CSV, semicolon for importers that expect it, or tab for a TSV file. Values containing the separator, quotes or line breaks are quoted. The file uses UTF-8 and CRLF row endings. Choose UTF-8 with BOM if Excel misreads accented or non-Latin text.
Spreadsheet safety is on by default. Text cells beginning with a formula character, even after whitespace, get a leading apostrophe so Excel does not evaluate them. Turn it off when an importer needs exact original text. JSON numbers, including negative numbers, are not altered.
Files up to 50 MB are accepted. JSON Lines files become one row per line. The preview shows up to 100 rows and 30 columns; the download has all rows and columns. Very large JSON or wide records may exceed a device’s memory.
