WebP to PNG

Convert WebP images to PNG. PNG keeps transparency and every pixel, and it opens in nearly every app and editor. Choose one image, a batch or a ZIP file. The conversion runs in this browser.

Lossless, up to 200 images, no upload

Drop WebP images here

Or choose .webp files, or a .zip of them. Up to 200 images, 50 MB each.

How to convert WebP to PNG

Drop .webp files or a .zip of them onto the converter, or choose them from your device, then press Convert to PNG. Download each PNG, or all of them in one ZIP. Every PNG has the same width and height as its WebP, and the same name with a new extension: logo.webp becomes logo.png.

Does converting to PNG lose quality?

No. PNG is lossless, so the PNG shows exactly what the WebP shows, including transparent and semi-transparent areas. It can’t bring back detail that a lossy WebP already discarded, though. A PNG is often several times larger than the WebP, especially for photos. For photos where file size matters, convert WebP to JPG instead.

Animated WebP

A PNG holds a single image, so an animated WebP becomes a PNG of its first frame. To keep the animation, convert WebP to GIF. For JPG, GIF and SVG in one place, use the WebP converter.

Frequently asked questions

Why is my PNG bigger than the WebP? WebP compresses images more efficiently than PNG. The PNG stores the same pixels in a less compact way, so a bigger file is expected and doesn’t mean anything went wrong.

Can I convert many WebP images to PNG at once? Yes. Choose up to 200 images, or a ZIP file that contains them, and download the PNG files in one ZIP. Folders inside your ZIP are kept.

Are my images uploaded? No. Your browser reads and converts the images on your device, and nothing is sent to a server, so the converter is also safe to use for private photos and screenshots.
