WebP converter

Convert WebP images to PNG, JPG, GIF or SVG. Choose one image, a batch or a ZIP file, pick a format, and download the results one by one or as a ZIP. The conversion runs in this browser, so your images are never uploaded.

Up to 200 images, 50 MB each, no upload

Or choose .webp files, or a .zip of them. Up to 200 images, 50 MB each.

How to convert WebP images

Drop .webp files or a .zip of them onto the converter, or choose them from your device. Pick a format under Convert to, then press Convert to PNG. Your browser decodes each image and saves it in the new format at the same width and height. Download the images one at a time, or all together as a ZIP that keeps the folders from your original ZIP.

Which format to choose

FormatBest forWhat you get
WebP to PNGScreenshots, graphics and anything with a transparent backgroundEvery pixel and all transparency. Files are usually larger than the WebP.
WebP to JPG (JPEG)Photos, and websites, forms and apps that only accept JPGSmall photo files at the quality you choose. No transparency.
WebP to GIFAnimated stickers and memes, and apps that don’t play animated WebPEvery frame and its timing, with up to 256 colors per frame
WebP to SVGLogos, icons and drawings for design apps and cutting machinesTraced shapes that stay sharp at any size, or the exact pixels inside an SVG file

Converting many images at once

Choose up to 200 images at a time, or a ZIP file of them. Files that aren’t WebP images are left out and counted, and so is the macOS metadata some ZIP files contain. Converted images keep their names: beach.webp becomes beach.png, and files that would end up with the same name are numbered.

Limits

Each image can be up to 50 MB and 50 megapixels, and a ZIP file up to 1 GB. Animated WebP images keep their animation when converted to GIF, in browsers such as Chrome and Edge; PNG, JPG and SVG get the first frame. Everything runs on your device, so a large batch takes longer on an older phone.

Frequently asked questions

Is this WebP converter free? Yes. There’s no sign-up, no watermark and no daily limit. The only limits are the size of each batch and what your device can handle.

What is a WebP file? WebP is an image format from Google that makes photos and graphics smaller than JPG or PNG, which is why so many websites use it. Some apps, editors and upload forms still don’t accept it, and converting to PNG or JPG solves that.

Are my images uploaded? No. Your browser reads and converts the images on your device, and nothing is sent to a server, so the converter is also safe to use for private photos and screenshots.
